Start with the Arts
Start with the Arts is a curriculum resource guide that promotes the development of basic pre- literacy skills through the arts for early childhood learners with and without disabilities. The guide offers 54 theme based lesson plans in:All About Me; How I Go from Here to There; Feeling Hot and Cold; and the World Around Me. The theme based lesson plans provide learning experiences that address the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of young children appropriately and meet Florida state standards.
Participants will engage in hands-on lessons from the guide with professional teaching artists in music, movement, drama and/or visual art. Early childhood classes both public and private including VPK programs, after school programs, museums and recreation centers are the sites for this program.
This session is appropriate for early childhood educators, staff and parents.

Inclusion in the Arts
Learn strategies to enable all children to successfully learn in and through the arts by integrating the arts into the curriculum. Participants will gain knowledge and resources that will enable them to provide successful experiences for children and adults in the creative process.
This session is appropriate for teaching artists, classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, staff and administrators.
