Help VSA prevent budget cut!

Dollar sign The arts, cultural, and museum grants line items were deleted March 15, 2011, from a budget worksheet in the Florida House Transportation and Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee meeting. This House budget subcommittee makes appropriation recommendations for arts and cultural grants administered by the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs (DCA) for the Florida House. If this action stands, it will mean the House, as of today’s date, recommends no state funds for arts and cultural grants.

Please help and take action today to help advocate and restore the budget line items by going to this website!

Arts for All Lending Program

VSA Florida has a statewide database of art making tools that can be used in the classroom, neighborhoods, parks and recreation sites, or anywhere there is a sidewalk or open space for creating. Arts for All art tools are one-of-a-kind products that offer individuals of all abilities an opportunity for creative expression through arts and mobility. Art tools are designed so participants with limited movement or lack of fine motor skills can be successful in using what mobility they have to create, paint, draw, and print.

If you are interested in leasing the equipment for absolutely no cost (only cost is for disposable materials), please contact your regional program coordinator or Wendy Finklea at 813-974-0715 or wfinklea@usf.edu.
