National Endowment for Arts

The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded a twenty thousand dollar grant to VSA arts of Florida.  VSA arts of Florida is one of only three Florida organizations awarded funding for the “Learning in the Arts for Children and Youth”. VSAFL applied for this funding to support ensuring access to the arts for all students. Artists who are specially trained to work with students with a range of disabilities will teach drama, music, movement and the visual arts in classroom residencies. This grant will allow VSAFL to offer a residency in every Florida County.

is an exhibition ofworks in diverse media by
artists from Girls' Club collection and beyond, characterized by intensive hand manufacture.

YOU WILL SEE all manner of obsessive tinkering,
elaborate drawing, juicy painting, hand-painted
animation, hand-altered 16mm film, pricked paper
drawings, artists' books, epic collage, site-specific installation and more.

Works by twenty-five artists including: Vija Celmins, Ellen Gallagher, Pepe Mar, Annette Messager, CarolPrusa, Amparo Sard,Michelle Segre, Kiki Smith,
Jen Stark, Jessica Stockholder, Nancy Spero & others.

The exhibition is free and open to the
public, on view until Sept 30, 2010.
