Festival - VSA arts of Florida Festival
The festival gives over 400 elementary students with disabilities the opportunity to showcase their achievements in the arts and to be exposed to new experiences in the visual and performing arts. On the day of the festival, students enjoy performances, participatory outdoor art booths, exhibitis and professional artistic demonstrations. The students preparation begins at their schools starting in September where they are professionalyy trained in the visual and performing arts in anticipation of performing and exhibiting their work at the festival.

Cultural Access - The Playwright Discovery Program Staged Reading
This program provides the playwright's of the winning three scripts the opportunity to have their one-act play professionally read at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in front of their teachers, classmates, friends, family and the community. To increase disability awareness in the community and to promote the artistic abilities of people with disabilities.

Education - Start with the Arts
This is a program for preschool to primary age children with disabilities based on teh national VSA arts program. This will provide these children with the experience of various art forms in the classroom and the opportunity to exhibit their art work for a community outreac program.

Cultural Access - The Playwright Discovery Program
This program will be taught by high school teachers (English and Drama) who attended the teacher workshop and can provide the students with the tools and motivation needed to write a one act play which includes some element of a disability. The students wil then submit their plays for a possible reading at the Playwright Staged Reading.

Outreach - The Traveling Exhibit
The participants from various VSA arts of Florida Palm Beach County programs will have their artwork debut in a professional art gallery setting, then travel to various locations throughout the county, including local festivals. The goals are to promote not only VSA arts, but the artists themselves are given exposure throughout the county.

Outreach - ArtStops / ArtMerge
The ArtStops and ArtMerge programs offer participants the opportunity to experience different art mediums and techniques. Our purpose is to offer art programs for children and adults with disabilities that rotate from different areas of the county enabling all of the community to participate. The program's goal is to teach new art forms to begining artists and to improve the skills of intermediate and advanced artists. This will in turn increase the confidence of every artist in their artistic abilities.

Professional Development - The Playwrights Discovery Program Teacher's Workshop
This program provides the appropriate tools to English and Drama teachers making it possible for them to guide their High School students through the process of writing a one act play involving some aspect of disability.

Education - Dance Residency
This program offers contemporary dance classes at 4 different schools to approximately 100 students with disabilities. Two schools are usually on one side of the county in the fall, while the others are in the opposite side of the county in the spring.

Performance/Exhibition - VSA arts Holiday Showcase, "Home for the Holidays"
Provides VSA artists the opportunity to perform on a professional stage for their family, friends, teachers and the community showcasing the performing arts skills they have learned.

Eduation - Drama Residency
VSA arts of Florida will provide a one week drama residency to deaf and hard of hearing children in three Palm Beach County schools in which students will work with a deaf professional actor who will help them to understand roles and create a ten minute performance. Through theater games and exercises, the artist will encourage the students to use their imagination and to infuse each activity with greater meaning with the use of facial expressions and body dynamics. The program as a result, also gives the student a positive role model and increase in self esteem.

Education - Express Diversity
This program is used for mainstreamed classrooms using art activities, writing and current events to increase disability awareness. Students are given the opportunity to design equipment for people who have disabilities, as well as participate in classroom activities what will increase their awareness and educate them on the diversity of all people in approaching different tasks, concepts and achievements.
