↓ Artist Biography

Mr. "B" is a self taught southern folk artist who finds peace of mind in his special kind of art. He was born into a poor family in 1939 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. When he was just 8 years old, in 1947, his father died, so along with his mother and 12 year old brother, he moved to Pinellas County FL. The existence was very meager, but this may have been what gave him a strong drive for success. He started at the bottom of the ladder with one of America's chain stores and climbed to the top. Mr. "B"'s work ethic was strong. He put in very long hours. In 1987 he was diagnosed with uncinate seizures, and spinal bifida. Then in 1991 the cruel corporate world raised it's ugly head agains middle aged employees. They called it early retirement. Feelings of helplessness, rejection, and loneliness turned into rage and anger. With a strong will and loving family, he conquered the angry beast within. His art, which portrays a simple, carefree life, calmed his spirit. The artist paints the days of our youth, the dreams we all have, and the way we would all like it to be.
